Holiday Shopping Deals That Help Roadskater.net Too: Forerunner 305 for just $150, Much More

Some have asked if there's a way to help Roadskater.net other than donating money, and here is one that won't cost anything. In general, if you plan to buy anything on ebay.com or amazon.com, if you can visit roadskater.net and do the first search from the sidebar ebay and amazon search boxes, that helps (especially if you end up joining ebay and buying or selling something not long afterward).

While working on development of a route I have been using mapmyride.com and have found it very useful, but when it comes to a left off of Vernon Rd onto Sandy Cross Rd to get to the store at Sandy Cross (upon the location of which Google, Yahoo and Mapquest seem not to agree), everything goes hayougetoffomycloudwire. Part of the road is missing from the map overlay, but it's clearly visible in the satellite view (though in some sat views I can see the road blocks from some previous construction destruction.

What's Up With Hyper Hyperformance +G and Mach 2 100mm Inline Speed Skate Wheels? Your A2A Choice?

roadskater's picture
Submitted by roadskater on September 24, 2008 - 5:32am.

Hi to all. With A2A fast approaching procrastinators want to know:

What's up with Hyper wheels in general, 100mm in particular, and Hyperformance +G and Mach 2, more specifically? eebee and I are scouting around for at least 12 100mm and 4 84mm and we found one spot that seems to have them, but only one we ever heard of. Now I'm not against low-fame websites, ha, but seriously where have all the Hypers gone?

Anybody have a great source?

What have you been using and are they worth the money?

The Paceline Bicycles Greensboro Bike Ride and Inline Skate was a fun, if relatively short (around 28 miles or so...I turned my Garmin Forerunner 305 on a bit late), training ride for the Tour to Tanglewood.

In addition to the photos of skating and cycling events on Roadskater.net Classic (http://rsn1.net), here's a place for us to collect links to other photos we've found interesting along the way, especially of skaters and cyclists.

Here's a photo of Andy and Melinda at Tour de Lions 2008 from the tourdelions.com website, and some of jay's photos from Callaway Gardens 2008...

Athens to Atlanta Roadskate (A2A Skate): Total Ascent, Elevation Gain; Barometric or GPS Data?

Does anybody have the total ascent or elevation gain for the 87 mile Athens-to-Atlanta (A2A) course kicking around somewhere in their GPS or training files? I have googled all sorts of term combos, as well as searched this site. Blake's A2A mapmyride entry shows highest & lowest elevation but doesn't add it up for me :-). I'm feeling a bit fuzzy headed today so it's entirely possible I overlooked it, but please post that figure if you have it!

I'm not sure how long it will last, but a couple of Roadskater.net charity team inline skaters were mentioned prominently in the recent Denton Orator and on their website front page:

[It didn't last long because we took so long to check it out! See comments below for Ms. Ayers' article. The newspaper is sending at least one copy for us to hoard. Please visit dentonorator.com anyway!]
